Japan Praises G20 Prioritizes World Peace and Economic Recovery

VIVA – Japan praised and appreciated the G20 Presidency of Indonesia for voicing strong messages and prioritizing peace, as well as world economic recovery. It was conveyed by the Foreign Press Secretary of Japan Ono Hikariko.

"We really appreciate the firm leadership of President Joko Widodo in organizing the whole series and making the summit successful," Ono Hikariko said on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

According to Ono Hikariko, the agreed Bali G20 Leaders' Declaration contains strong messages and key points regarding the current world situation. "The document can be a big step forward," Hikariko remarked.

Regarding the future bilateral relations, Ono Hikariko pointed out that Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is optimistic about the progress of relations between the two countries, one of which is on efforts to address climate change such as support for Japan for the Asian zero emission initiative and the Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

"In this collaboration, we hope that Indonesia and Japan can play a role in addressing climate change issues and energy cooperation," Ono Hikariko remarked.

It is known that the Prime Minister of Japan, Kishida, and the delegation arrived in Bali on Sunday, November 17, 2022, to attend a series of G20 summits in Nusa Dua on November 15 to 16.

Moreover, Bali is also a place for the Japanese delegation to hold bilateral meetings and talks with other countries including Rwanda, South Africa, Argentina, and the NATO / G7 emergency meeting.
