1. Most Indonesian online consumers ashamed of not having cars, survey shows

It may be the contributing factor of explaining why there has been a growing demand of new cars in Indonesia, according to Nielsen's Consumer Insight survey. "Online consumers in Indonesia thought that car ownership is a powerful symbol to show their success," said Executive Directr Consumer Insight, Anil Antony.

2. Rp20 million fine for buying from illegal hawkers at Monas

Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta introduces heavy fine for people who get caught from buying stuffs from illegal hawkers at Monumen Nasional (Monas) compound. The fine is Rp20 million (US$1750) or two-month jail sentence. 


3. National Exam criticized for putting questions on Jokowi

The committee of national examination for high school students was heavily criticized for putting questions on Joko Widodo at several subjects, Bahasa Indonesia and English. Joko Widodo is currently the Jakarta governor who happens to be a presidential candidate.


4. Asia shares mostly higher, moves modest on Thursday

Australia up 0.5 percent and MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan adding 0.33 percent. The moves mirrored Wall Street, where both the Dow and S&P 500 gained about 1 percent, while the Nasdaq bounced by 1.29 percent, according to Reuters. 


5. A failed candidate turns to be a robber

Members of public in Bengkulu Province reported that they had been intimidated by a man who recently failed to become a local lawmaker after the legislative election. He spent lots of money to bribe people to vote him and now wants his money back from them by force.
